Helpful Advice You Should Follow When Selecting Great Looking Memory Foam Mattresses
July 24, 2009
Shopping for a memory foam mattress can be a little overwhelming. There is such a wide array of terminology and choices that it can be difficult. To help make the choice easier it is important to remember three key things: foam density, thickness, and temperature sensitivity.
Looking at these three key elements can help you select the memory foam product that is best for you. Not all memory foam mattresses will feature temperature sensitivity. It is really one of the key elements of a memory foam product. The memory foam will not be nearly as comfortable if it is not temperature sensitive. If you are able to buy a memory foam mattress that adjusts to the temperature it will be money well spent.
This features enables the mattress to absorb some of you body heat and soften up to support the key problem areas of your body. When buying memory foam mattress bedding you need to find one with a large enough layer of actual memory foam on top. You want one with at least three and a half inches of memory foam. When the layer of memory foam is too thin the mattress is much less comfortable.
When looking at memory foam mattresses you will also need to think about density. The density of a memory foam mattress refers to the weight per cubic foot. There is no clear consensus as to the ideal density of memory foam. It is common for retailers to attempt to sell you memory foam with a three pound density.
Most people find they get better support for their hips, shoulders, and back if you select a memory foam mattress with a density of between five pounds and 5.9 pounds. Many find that products with a density greater than six pounds are not that comfortable. Be sure that there is a warranty included with whatever memory foam product you purchase. Most high quality products will offer a warranty of between twenty and twenty five years.
